New home for innovation in FNQ

12 January 2021

A new purpose-built innovation space has been opened in far north Queensland at the JCU Smithfield university campus in Cairns.

Supporting innovators in the far north, the JCU Ideas Lab, has been jointly funded by the Queensland Government, Australian Government and James Cook University.

The space will play a pivotal role as an innovative centre to translate research, ideas and ambition into products and processes with real commercial application that can drive economic growth and diversity in Australia.

The JCU Ideas Lab was officially opened 16 December 2020.
