New defence research and development facility opens in Queensland
A new facility designed to develop new defence technologies by Advance Queensland alumni Skyborne Technologies and Cyborg Dynamics Engineering has opened in Murarrie, Brisbane.
Working in partnership, Skyborne Techologies and Cyborg Dynamics have developed the Cerebus GL unmanned aerial vehicle (UVA) to provide aerial fire support on the battlefield.
Both Skyborne Technologies and Cyborg Dynamics are recipients of the Advance Queensland Ignite Ideas program, which gave their business a strong start to build their teams and deliver a commercialised product.
With the attraction of the Defence Cooperative Research Centre (CRC) for Trusted Autonomous Systems by the Queensland Government, Skyborne, Cyborg Dynamics and The University of Queensland were able to secure funding to develop further defence technologies.
Skyborne and Cyborg Dynamics will work together on Defence CRC projects at the new Murarrie facility.
