Docketbook makes distancing easier in building trade

08 May 2020

Docketbook, a digital docket system for deliveries and proof of work in the construction industry, has met the challenge of social distancing.

The cloud-based, tamper-free exchange platform allows creation and signing of work dockets on a phone or tablet.

More than 300 enterprises in Australia were using Docketbook before COVID-19, and the Brisbane-based company made changes in response to distancing rules.

Now users can create and send a docket on a phone, and their customer can sign on their own phone - all without getting within 1.5m of each other.

Docketbook used its $100,000 Ignite Ideas Fund grant from the Queensland Government in 2018 to assist with sales and marketing of the business.

The product allows contractors, suppliers and customers to share proof of work and delivery in real time, eliminating disputes and accelerating payment processes.

After good uptake in Australia, the company is looking to grow internationally.
