21 Dec 2021

The Christmas holidays have been given an extra dose of fun with a $1.72 million high-ropes adventure park opening at Gold Coast Recreation Centre.

The Aerial Adventures course features more than 45 fun, challenging obstacles including a zip line, barrel bridge crossings, hanging tunnel crawls and bicycle, all safely positioned at varying heights above the ground.

The top level of the course is 16-metres high but there is also a kids course for children as young as three and an accessible course for people in a wheelchair.

An expansion of the leisure centre has also been completed in time for the Christmas holidays.

The $7.73 million refurbishment has seen two new multi-purpose indoor courts built, making it a total of five indoor courts featuring sprung timber floors.

The courts are perfect for sports like basketball, netball, futsal, wheelchair rugby, pickleball and fitness classes, and ideal for school camps or sporting teams to use, especially with extensive accommodation available on-site.
