ActiveKIT funds innovative ideas to get Queenslanders moving

18 June 2021

A total of 39 innovative projects designed to get more Queenslanders moving and make the active industry more resilient are sharing in $4.1 million funding through the ActiveKIT program.

Some of the projects include an app which helps workers sit down less at the office, a game scoring device that recognises speech, a hiking program for people who suffer from arthritis, exercise programs for seniors and a digital registration system for club sign-on days.

The new ActiveKIT program is utilising Knowledge, Innovation and Technology to find the most creative, practical ideas from not-for-profit providers, start-ups, local councils and peak bodies.

The 39 successful projects were selected out of a field of 108 applications and are able to commence from 1 June 2021, once funding agreements are in place.
