Finding Nemo could soon be a reality on school excursions

09 Mar 2021

The Queensland Government has announced it will help more than 6500 Queensland students explore the Great Barrier Reef thanks to a new $1 million initiative.

The Great Barrier Reef Education Experience Program will provide students up to $150 to enjoy a school excursion on the Great Barrier Reef over the next three years.

Starting in Term Three of this year, the program will encourage young Queenslanders to explore the reef, as well as support jobs for the tourism industry’s economic recovery.

All primary and secondary Queensland schools can apply.
