Nuts about tourism in Bundaberg

20 Oct 2021

Visitors to Bundaberg can add a new stop to their itinerary with the opening of Australia’s first farm-to-fork macadamia nut tourism experience.

Macadamias Australia received over $936,000 in funding through the Growing Tourism Infrastructure program for a new attraction where visitors can enjoy a pick your own orchard experience, an interactive learning centre, shop in the retail outlet, view the processing plant and sample the goods at a local produce driven café.

Established in 1958, the new experience at Macadamias Australia is estimated to bring an additional 72,800 visitors to the Bundaberg region, and will boost the regional economy by $38 million.
