Activate! Queensland goes next level on the road to Brisbane 2032
The next phase of Activate! Queensland is being delivered across the state with a $394 million investment over 3 years to help Queenslanders lead active, healthy lives.
The second action plan – ‘Accelerate’ – will see an extra $80.2 million in funding to help lay a foundation for how Queensland benefits from Brisbane 2032.
Popular programs that will continue include FairPlay vouchers and the $4 million Active KIT program which funds innovative ideas; both are currently open for applications, and Active Clubs which helps sport and active recreation clubs with training, equipment and support for carnivals or sign-on days.
There will be enhanced support for emerging athletes, coaches and officials through the Emerging Athlete Pathways program that helps cover the costs of getting to major competitions.
And the Deadly Active and First Nations Sport and Recreation programs will provide more opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to get involved in sport.
The Accelerate Action Plan includes a forward timetable of grant programs so clubs can plan their applications ahead with certainty and deliver high quality facilities and services.
Accelerate will provide more opportunities for Queenslanders to be active and engaged in their local communities, regardless of their background or where they live, improving the physical and mental health of Queenslanders both now and for generations to come.
