Located adjacent to Australia Zoo, the Crocodile Hunter Lodge is the region’s newest luxury accommodation.

Australia Zoo’s newest tourist attraction has arrived – the Crocodile Hunter Lodge.

The Crocodile Hunter Lodge includes eight luxury two-bedroom cabins, a group camping ground and associated facilities, a restaurant that caters for up to 200 guests, animal enclosures and a 25-metre infinity pool overlooking bushland and native wildlife.

Lodge guests receive a complimentary daily breakfast, get unlimited entry into Australia Zoo, be able to visit the Wildlife Hospital, and dine at the fine dining Warrior Restaurant and Bar.

Australia Zoo owner and director Dr Terri Irwin said the official opening of the Crocodile Hunter Lodge and Warrior Restaurant was a historic day and a dream come true for Australia Zoo.

“Steve’s dream was to have accommodation at Australia Zoo one day and we are very proud to offer this unique immersive experience for people to stay here at the Zoo and enjoy everything that the Sunshine Coast hinterland can offer,” Dr Irwin said.

The Queensland Government partnered with Australia Zoo in the $8 million development through the Growing Tourism Infrastructure (GTI) Fund.

The project supported 36 construction jobs and has created 31 operational jobs.

The Crocodile Hunter Lodge is expected to attract 39,000 extra visitors and inject an additional $4.5 million into the Sunshine Coast region each year.

The completion of this Australia Zoo project takes the tally of projects funded under the original $36 million GTI Fund to 17, which will bring collectively an additional 341,445 visitors to the state, creating 438 jobs and increasing overnight expenditure by almost $54 million every year.
