Now you can swim with the salties at CrocArena

21 Sep 2021

A new attraction at the Wildlife Habitat that invites visitors to swim with crocodiles in an acrylic tank and come face-to-face with prehistoric creatures officially opens today in Port Douglas.

Wildlife Habitat received $500,000 for their new attraction CrocArena from the $25 million Growing Tourism Infrastructure Fund.

CrocArena will be a welcome addition to the Far North’s tourism portfolio, with their new grandstand for 300 visitors, and an underwater viewing area to watch the action unfold.

Wildlife Habitat is an advanced eco-accredited park, divided into five zones, that allows guests to interact with iconic Australian wildlife in open and spacious ecosystems.

Three huge male crocodiles each weighing up to 350 kg were welcomed to CrocArena from Australia Zoo (in the safety of a climate-controlled vehicle) to join the attraction, and will enjoy a tropical oasis developed with large, clear water lagoon pools shaded by established trees.
