EmpowHER builds confidence and fitness for women
Scenic Rim Regional Council received $100,000 in ActiveKIT funding to help bring this innovative hiking program to life.
The EmpowHER Hiking Program is about empowering women and girls to explore the spectacular natural surrounds of the Scenic Rim whilst building confidence, fitness and participation in hiking.
The program offers regular guided hiking opportunities that will connect like-minded females and provide them with the skills they need to be physically active and embark on their own hiking adventures.
This Scenic Rim Regional Council led initiative is one of 39 innovative projects funded by the Queensland Government’s ActiveKIT program in partnership with Health and Wellbeing Queensland.
There are 60 guided hikes on offer with options for all fitness levels, from short walks to full-day adventures.
The program runs from February to June 2022 and is great opportunity to get out, explore the beautiful scenic rim and get active.
