Reef operators expressions of interest
Commercial reef tourism operators that meet the eligibility requirements are invited to submit an expression of interest to register with the Program.
Once eligibility has been confirmed, operator details will be published on the Program website to assist schools in engaging with reef experience providers. The list of operators is updated monthly.
Eligibility
Eligible commercial reef tourism operators must:
- have Blue Cards for all staff that will be engaging with students
- have a Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority permit with permission to conduct a tourist program within the Great Barrier Reef World Heritage Area
- provide an eligible reef experience which can align to the Australian and Queensland school curriculum
- have capacity to provide the risk assessment documentation and safety advice required by schools for the activities being undertaken
- be recognised as either a:
- High Standard Tourism Operator by the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority
- Best of Queensland Experience by Tourism and Events Queensland
- marine research provider.
