Lady Musgrave Island Pontoon
Visitors to the new three-level pontoon at Lady Musgrave Island will experience the amazing colours of the reef at night and sleep below sea level.
Project overview
The underwater observatory is part of the 36 by 12 meter pontoon development and is a first for the Southern Great Barrier Reef creating a whole new way for visitors to experience the island. The pontoon will feature:
- an upper level sundeck
- an underwater observatory
- sleep up to 20 people in the below sea level accommodation
- a dive and snorkelling platform
- environmental data collection stations.
The pontoon development will ensure the southern area of the Great Barrier Reef stays an attractive gateway for visitors.
