Minjerribah (North Stradbroke Island) is an island that lies within Moreton Bay in the Australian state of Queensland. The Quandamooka people are the Traditional Custodians of Minjerribah, which is the second largest sand island in the world after K’Garri (Fraser Island).
The Queensland Government is supporting the transition of Minjerribah from its past reliance on sand mining to a new future as a leading destination for cultural and eco-tourism. The transition program, known as Minjerribah Futures, rests on a foundation of Quandamooka culture and sustainability. It seeks to achieve a Minjerribah that is environmentally pristine with a thriving economy.
