Business capacity building

Project overview

The business capacity building program aimed to foster new skills, create new networks and help businesses to capitalise on and leverage off changes in the local economy and other Minjerribah Futures initiatives such as the visitor research project.

Island businesses were eligible to access a skills and mentoring program to support business planning, risk analysis, performance and productivity.

Straddie Chamber of Commerce accessed 3 rounds of training/upskilling workshops for North Stradbroke Island businesses, which focussed on:

  • business planning/risk analysis
  • marketing plans
  • online strategies
  • websites
  • social media

  • traffic generation
  • digital analytics
  • digital upskilling.

Participant Julie Elliott, owner of Nourish Naturally shared "The website and online marketing workshops have given me skills so I can now do a lot of marketing myself and understand where best to spend my marketing money”.
