Big Rig and Tree Walk
With our support, you will soon be able to view the Bigger Big Rig and the sights of Roma from a 30 metre high observation tower.
The Big Rig pays homage to Australia’s first discovery of oil and gas. This new experience will have a strong focus on adventure and stimulate the imagination of the STEM enthusiasts.
The tower will complement existing attractions - The Oil Patch, a self-guided outdoor museum and The Big Rig Night Show and will include a 150-metre tree walk. Starting at The Big Rig, visitors will travel to the Oil Patch Museum and then native vegetation along the Bungil Creek.
The walk will incorporate audio-visual elements that align with the Australian Curriculum and focus on a STEM engagement experience. Visitors will see highlights of Outback Queensland while travelling to the top of the tower.
